Dangerous Paradigm

Civilian law has difficulty acting against intent. By bringing terrorists under civilian courts, this administration has changed all the rules --  de facto prohibited lawmen from interrupting terrorist attacks without first building a civilian-style case. Under civilian rules, that terrified wife must be brutally savaged before civilian law enforcement can interrupt the attacker. The military bombs the enemy’s planes before they get into the air. The civilian approach will effectively mandate, not preempt, terrorist attack.

Apply the civilian approach to a suicide bomber:  First, we must wait until a known suspect blows up a plane. Now, collect the bomber’s disassociated parts from the landscape. Read them their rights. Put the parts on trial in New York. Sentence them to death. Declare the country is nobler because no terrorist’s rights were violated in the process.

Unfortunately, too much evidence verifies this administration’s perilous defensive laissez faire: It refuses to close our borders. It refuses to profile at airports. It is actively emasculating preemptive lines of defense by prosecuting the CIA and Navy SEALS. Defense and troop requests are the only things cut while our apologist Commander-in-Chief declines to inconvenience any group -- except Republican house and senate representatives elected by 45% of voters – and prohibits defensive action until the bombs go off. Scary. Scary. Scary.
